The Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Expert Practitioner in Specimen Dissection. This newly created role involves supervising and performing complex scientific procedures related to specimen analysis, contributing to the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases. Candidates who do not already possess the IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Histological Dissection will receive support to complete their training, allowing them to achieve a Band 7 upon completion.

The Expert Practitioner will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of histological dissection, collaborating closely with histopathology consultants and biomedical scientists to ensure efficient workflow. Key responsibilities include supporting the development of staff in specimen dissection, reviewing and developing Standard Operating Procedures, and troubleshooting to maintain reliable service delivery. The role also encompasses providing expert advice, participating in research, and overseeing a team of technical staff to enhance the dissection service's effectiveness.
