Community Recovery Service for Older People (CRSOP)
8a Clinical Psychologist one day per week (0.2 sessions).
This is an exciting opportunity to join the well established Community Recovery Service for Older People (CRSOP) team one day a week. CRSOP are a small team working intensively with older people with mental health difficulties within the context of ageing and frailty. You will work as part of a committed MDT where there is a strong emphasis on group work, alongside one to one support. CRSOP sits within Services for Ageing and Mental Health and work closely with the community teams and hospital division.
As a psychologist working in the wider Services for Ageing and Mental Health you will form part of supportive and kind psychology team. As a group of psychologists, we have specialist interests in working systemically with older people and their families and systems, delivering CBT, ACT, EMDR, and are committed to working with carers and families. We are a Trauma Informed Organisation and try to embed anti-discriminatory practice into our work with older people.
We are committed to Continuing Professional Development, and we offer an excellent inhouse programme of CPD including courses in CBT, ACT, EMDR, Psychodynamic and Systemic Approaches.

The post holder will work within the Community Recovery Service for Older People (CRSOP) as a lone psychologist, one day a week. They will provide high quality and highly specialist psychological assessment and treatment including group work, working autonomously within professional guidelines and to the overall framework of the services' policies and procedures.
The post holder will offer consultation to aid formulation, diagnosis and psychological care planning, including the management of challenging and risk behaviours, to non-psychologist colleagues. They will provide psychological perspectives on group processes and dynamics, provide reflective spaces and informal staff support. The post holder will develop the group programme, adapting group approaches to fit the context and support others in the delivery of group work.
The post holder will supervise / manage trainee clinical psychologists and offer supervision where appropriate to qualified psychologists of a lower band. The post holder will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development/quality improvement.

To formulate and devise psychological treatment and management plans for referred older clients with a range of problems of severity and complexity, including those with challenging behaviours.
To provide highly specialised psychological treatment including group work for older adults, using a range of psychological interventions and approaches appropriate to the service.
To provide highly specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, to assist in the formulation, diagnosis and treatment of clients with very complex needs in highly challenging circumstances.
To carry out direct and indirect risk assessments and management plans in line with MDT care planning.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the psychological assessment and treatment in accordance with policies of the service.
To provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plans of older service users, who may have highly complex needs and exhibit challenging behaviours.
To liaise with other health and social care staff, from a range of agencies, in the care provided to service users.
