The Clinical Charge Nurse position at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust in Woolwich is a permanent, full-time role within the Acute and Crisis directorate, specifically on Avery Ward, a 20-bedded female acute ward for adults aged 18 to 65. The successful candidate will hold an NMC registration and bring relevant experience to a multidisciplinary team focused on providing psychological and pharmaceutical interventions to patients in crisis. Key responsibilities include leading and supporting junior staff in delivering person-centered care, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a trauma-informed approach. The role also involves overseeing the management of clinical issues on the ward, engaging in professional development, and fostering a positive learning environment for staff.

The position operates on a shift rota that includes weekends and nights, as part of the duty senior nurse role. Clinical Charge Nurses are expected to promote leadership and clinical practice, facilitate professional growth among team members, and engage in various nursing tasks such as personal care, nutritional support, and health monitoring. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with safeguarding and organisational policies, conducting patient admissions and discharges, and responding to deteriorations in patient health.
