The Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced and dynamic Specialist Occupational Therapist to join their Acute Medical team, following a recent retirement. This role involves assessing and treating patients in alignment with current evidence-based practices, providing specialist knowledge and support to colleagues, patients, and their families. The successful candidate will participate in team supervision and training, contributing to service evaluation and improvement.

Key responsibilities include managing a diverse caseload, formulating and delivering individualized treatment plans, participating in discharge planning, and effectively communicating with patients and families who may face challenges in understanding. The Occupational Therapist will also collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, maintain comprehensive patient records, and actively engage in weekend services.

Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, a flexible work ethic, and excellent organisational abilities. The role emphasises the importance of accountability, patient flow support, and contributing to service development within the therapy team, which includes physiotherapists and support staff.
