• We are looking for an excellent leader and autonomous practitioner with a passion for venous access devices to join our team.
• The post holder willprovide professional clinical leadership and develop advanced practice within Venous Access, spearheading the practice of insertion, ongoing management and removal of invasive vascular devices, auditing this practice and ensuring the appropriate training of all staff involved.
• The post-holder will demonstrably improve the care, experience and outcomes for patients attending radiology and interventional radiology departments and for those patients requiring venous access devices lead and manage a nurse-led service, (including but not limited to acute central venous catheters, skin tunnelled cuffed catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters, vascaths and peripheral lines) by providing expert clinical and nursing leadership for the further development of the services.

• The Imaging Department provides a comprehensive range of imaging modalities including X-ray, MRI CT, PET-CT, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology and Venous Access to adult and paediatric in-patients and outpatients across both the St Georges site and at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.

Job Summary: Vascular Access

• The Lead Nurse for Vascular Access and Radiology is required to work as an expert practitioner, providing professional clinical leadership and developing advanced practice within Venous Access, spearheading the practice of insertion, ongoing management and removal of invasive vascular devices, auditing this practice and ensuring the appropriate training of all staff involved.

• The post holder will contribute to the strategic direction and implementation of the corporate objectives and clinical strategy within the vascular access and radiology service across the hospital group.

Job Summary: St George's Radiology

• The post-holder will demonstrably improve the care, experience and outcomes for patients attending radiology and interventional radiology departments and for those patients requiring venous access devices lead and manage a nurse-led service, (including but not limited to acute central venous catheters, skin tunnelled cuffed catheters, peripherally inserted central catheters, vascaths and peripheral lines) by providing expert clinical and nursing leadership for the further development of the services.
