A unique and very exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a full time Band 7 Macmillan Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team Leader at Harrogate and District Foundation Trust.
This role requires an experienced individual with previous experience of working within the field of haematology and be able to work autonomously and act as an expert resource for various clinical teams. You will be able to demonstrate leadership and management skills and be an excellent communicator.
The post holder will form part of a cohesive team of Haematologists, nurse specialists, advanced nurse practitioner and trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners who work closely with clinicians across the trust and the tertiary site in Leeds.

To practice as a clinical nurse specialist demonstrating good knowledge and competence in all aspects of care and treatment relating to Haematological malignancies & general Haematology
To implement a personalised care and support approach, and undertake care plans in consultation with all patients
Carry a caseload and responsibility for the management of complex cases
Communicate very sensitive condition related information to patients and relatives. This includes highly complex information that needs to be conveyed in easily understood language.
Provide line management and leadership to the clinical nurse specialist team
Support and Coordinate the Clinical Nurse Specialist service on a day to day basis
Facilitate in the overall business planning and development of the service including new and innovative patient pathways
Conduct and facilitate Patient Education Programmes to promote self-management for patients living with and beyond their cancer
Actively participate and contribute in the team's business and quality meetings.
