FAMILY MENTAL HEALTH MULTI-DISCIPLINARY NHS OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
The role of B6 Community Occupational Therapist at Guildford Community Mental Health Recovery Service with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust involves delivering innovative occupational therapy interventions in both individual and group settings. Key responsibilities include facilitating programs such as the Occupation Matters and Recovery through Occupation groups, conducting comprehensive assessments, and supporting smooth transitions from secondary services through the New Horizons pathway. The position emphasises the use of the Model of Human Occupation and incorporates occupational science and neuroscience into practice.

Candidates are expected to provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions, communicate effectively with service users and multidisciplinary teams, supervise and mentor junior staff and students, and contribute to service development and audits. The role is split evenly between delivering therapy and care coordination, with flexibility required to work within surrounding community services as needed. There is also a strong commitment to professional development through extensive continuing professional development (CPD) programs and supervision structures.
