The East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Nurse to join the busy Benson Ward, a 62-bedded Trauma and Orthopaedic unit that primarily handles emergency admissions. The role requires strong communication and leadership skills, enabling the nurse to effectively manage the shift and support the healthcare team. The successful candidate will also assist the Ward Matron in her absence and play a key role in mentoring new and junior staff as well as student nurses, with opportunities for professional development and training provided.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Nurse to join this busy team. Benson and Egerton Trauma Unit is a 62 bedded Trauma & Orthopaedic unit mainly accepting emergency admissions from A&E or clinics.

For candidates who meet the criteria, support and training will be given to help you to develop the knowledge and skills to progress and develop in the Band 6 role.

The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills and be able to fully interact with all members of the multidisciplinary team.

They will be able to demonstrate excellent leadership skills within the clinical environment to ensure effective running of the shift 24 hours per day.

Support the Ward Matron and act in her absence.

Support and help to develop the team and act as mentor for new staff, junior staff and student nurses.
