0-19 Practitioner Health Visitor

Based across Kirklees


We are offering an exciting opportunity and are looking to recruit innovative and motivated Health Visitors with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to join our 0-19 teams.


As a qualified Health Visitor, you will be expected to work as part of a corporate team; working within a defined area to meet the needs of the service. As a Health Visitor you will deliver on the healthy child programme in line with national and local specification. You will have the ability to demonstrate evidence-based practice and provide a high quality of care provision within the services.


As part of the role as a Health Visitor you will have experience in working with children, young people and their families who may present with a wide range of issues and varying complexities. You must have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an integrated skill mix team which will require excellent communication skills and experience of working in partnership across organisational boundaries. You need to be willing to facilitate and support change in service delivery.

Knowledge and skills in safeguarding are essential for the role and you will be required to create reports, attend child protection case conferences and make informed decisions about child protection risks.

A commitment to work in partnership with other Childrens Statutory and Voluntary Agencies is essential in order to improve the outcomes for children, and in addressing health inequalities of the very diverse populations we serve.

The successful candidates will be committed to supporting Localas values and be proactive at embracing new technologies. This includes video and telephone conferencing and the use of mobile devices enabling colleagues to work more flexibly to address the needs of the community.
