The Devon Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Intellectual Disability Psychiatry to join their vibrant team in Barnstaple, North Devon. This role is ideal for trainees completing core training or those pursuing a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR), as the Trust offers strong support for applications. The successful candidate will provide psychiatric services to adults with intellectual disabilities within the community-based North and Mid Devon Intensive Assessment and Treatment Team (IATT), and will also work with inpatient units as needed. The position offers flexibility in work location, allowing the applicant to base themselves at the nearest Trust office to their home. This substantive role entails collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and other health professionals, fostering a supportive environment dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The position offers an opportunity to develop leadership skills while working with a committed team, and involves no on-call responsibilities. Regular supervision will be provided by a Consultant Psychiatrist, and the postholder will be expected to actively engage in collaborative efforts with various services, enhancing their professional growth in the field of intellectual disability psychiatry.
