The Band 4 Electrical Craftsperson at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust will work independently on various demanding and non-routine electrical engineering tasks. Responsibilities include testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting a wide array of systems such as electrical distribution, lighting installations, fire detection, ventilation, medical vacuums, and security systems. The role requires adherence to Trust safety protocols, participation in planned maintenance operations, and effective communication regarding plant failures. The jobholder will also interpret electrical drawings, act as a 'Competent Person' for low voltage systems, provide training to maintenance assistants, and report any incidents per Trust policy.

The position emphasises the importance of safety and compliance with established protocols, and the successful candidate will use diagnostic and hand tools to complete their work. Additionally, they will support the Electrical Supervisor, ensure proper reporting of issues, and undergo fire safety training regularly. Overall, this role is crucial for maintaining the reliability and safety of the hospital's electrical systems and infrastructure.
