The Community Therapy Assistant in Bishop Auckland will support registered Therapists in delivering high-quality physiotherapy and occupational therapy interventions for patients, primarily in community settings and to housebound individuals. This role involves providing holistic care without direct supervision while being accountable to the responsible therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with clinical care and participate in service improvements.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team including nursing, social work, and administrative staff.
  • Engage in rehabilitation and case management services.
  • Undertake basic clinical activities, monitor patient conditions, and report any changes to registered therapists.
  • Promote patient independence, assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and dietary monitoring.
  • Conduct home visits for equipment fitting, ensuring patient education on safe usage.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse clients, adapting to their needs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation of clinical interventions following organizational policies.

Clinical Quality and Resource Management:

  • Support the implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate a learning environment, promote health awareness, and foster professional development.
  • Encourage effective communication within the team and with external agencies.
  • Maintain high standards of service delivery and efficient resource utilization.

Development:

  • Engage in clinical supervision and reflect on personal performance for continuous improvement.
