The successful candidate will join a diverse team of approximately 25 dietitians and will benefit from excellent career development pathways, regular supervision, and opportunities for peer learning. The department encourages engagement in projects related to audit, service evaluation, and research. Staff have access to a Wellbeing Hub, a low-cost Park and Ride Scheme, and an onsite gym, all while working Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

We have a great opportunity for an HCPC registered dietitian to join our award winning paediatric dietetic team (approximately 25 dietitians) at Southampton Children's Hospital. This post is offered at band 5-6 level, depending on experience and competencies achieved. It is a rotational post and you will develop skills in general paediatrics and particular specialist areas, working with inpatients and outpatients. Current rotations offered include:
1.General paediatrics & diabetes2.Oncology & Neurology3.General paediatrics & nephrology4.Allergy & Gastroenterology5.Cardiology & allergy6.Cystic Fibrosis and Respiratory

About us
The paediatric team is part of the University Hospital Southampton NHSFT Dietetics and Speech and Language Therapy department, (approximately 130 staff ),providing both acute and community services in adults and paediatrics. We are a large, diverse team and there are excellent opportunities for CPD and career development. We have access to the paediatric grand round education events and have strong links with Southampton University. Audit, service evaluation, QI and research projects are actively encouraged.
We offer protected CPD time and you will have regular one-to-one supervision plus access to a mentor. There are opportunities for peer to peer learning and support with a monthly journal club.
We are a registered training site for student dietetic placements and the paediatric team won the University of Winchester Placement Educator of the Year Award 2023.
All UHS staff have access to the staff Wellbeing Hub and the free onsite staff gym. There is an efficient, low cost Park and Ride Scheme.
Our Department operates Monday to Friday 8-5pm
