The Team Leader for the Emergency Department at Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool is responsible for the daily management of the department, overseeing patient care, coordinating interventions, and deploying nursing staff to ensure high standards of care. This role includes first-line management of nursing and support staff, addressing development needs, and providing direct clinical nursing services. The Team Leader will play a crucial role in assessing care needs, implementing family-centered care programs, and ensuring quality care through collaboration with the ED Matron and Head of Nursing.

Additionally, the Team Leader is expected to monitor care standards, lead quality improvement initiatives, and facilitate incident reporting in line with Trust guidelines. They must effectively communicate within the team and with multidisciplinary units, participate in case conferences, and support junior staff as a clinical expert, particularly in critical areas such as child protection. Overall, the role encompasses leadership in clinical care, staff management, service development, and adherence to health and safety policies within the Trust.
