The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Associate Practitioner for its Clinical Microbiology department at the Exeter site. This role involves supporting Biomedical Scientists in the investigation of patient samples, with tasks including checking sample integrity, processing clinical specimens, and maintaining laboratory equipment across Bacteriology, Virology, and Molecular departments. The successful candidate will need strong organisational and communication skills, a flexible attitude, and attention to detail, as they will supervise and train support staff, manage workflow, and ensure compliance with quality controls.

The position entails working 37.5 hours per week, with a requirement for weekend and holiday shifts on a rotational basis. The Microbiology department operates under a comprehensive service model, processing over 600,000 specimens annually and is located near Dartmoor with good transport links.
