The Deputy Fire Safety Manager at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations, specifically the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Firecode HTM-05-01. This position involves conducting fire risk assessments, delivering fire safety training, and supporting the Fire Safety Manager in managing fire safety policies and procedures across multiple sites including University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The role requires proactivity in raising awareness, conducting fire drills and evacuations, and investigating fire safety incidents, along with maintaining comprehensive records and statistics related to fire safety.

Additionally, the Deputy Fire Safety Manager will oversee the Trust's fire safety advisory contract, coordinate fire safety audits, and collaborate with both internal staff and external advisors. Responsibilities include preparing training and induction programs for employees, ensuring regular reviews of fire safety plans, and liaising with local fire authorities. The role demands independence in managing fire safety risk issues, including the authority to halt work if necessary, and involves meticulous documentation and reporting as part of an overall commitment to enhancing fire safety within the Trust's healthcare facilities.
