Contribute to the development of the postholder and growth of the Procurement department in line with service provision.

The Procurement Department coordinates the sourcing, contracting and buying of goods and services to meet the operational requirements of theTrust.An opportunity has arisen in the position of a Band 3 eProcurement Assistant to work within a top performing, award winning Procurement team.We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, well organized person to work within the eProcurement Team, providing integral support to the Trust.

To support the eProcurement team in ensuring that the Trust's purchasing activities are undertaken in an efficient and effective manner.Responsible for supporting the sourcing of goods, negotiating best value, processing transactions and providing excellent customer service.

Planning and Organisational Duties

  • Provide general assistance with locally based procurement function
  • Process orders via the eProcurement system
  • Seek best buy opportunities by considering alternative products / sources of supply and record and report cost savings
  • Provide advice and guidance to customers
  • Liaise with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve queries in an efficient manner ensuring a professional service at all times
  • Organise workload effectively in order to ensure minimal or no delay in delivery of goods to end users and to liaise with appropriate suppliers
  • Support materials management initiatives
  • Participate in training as required
  • Contribute to the development of the postholder and growth of the Procurement department in line with service provision
  • Logging of requisition data using appropriate MS packages
  • Production of official purchase orders using appropriate bespoke IT systems and software (Oracle iProcurement system)
  • Regular updates of pricing schedules / catalogues
  • Accurate record keeping for audit requirements
  • Be a valuable member of the Trusts Procurement Department, contribute to the delivery of its overall objectives and assist with stock and general office activities when required.
  • Determine a plan with the eProcurement Manager so those training requirements remain up to date in the light of changing procedures and the introduction of new legislation.
  • Plan and organise own workload in conjunction with the eProcurement Manager and to deputise for him/her as and when required.
  • Ensure that necessary risks taken as part of daily work have been assessed and managed in order to reduce the likelihood of any unfavourable outcome occurring.
  • Any other duties as required.
