The Systemic Family Therapist will provide a systemic family therapy service as part of the Children & Adolescent Mental Health services, encompassing assessment, care planning, and therapeutic interventions. Key responsibilities include:
Candidates in their final year of systemic training may be considered for a fixed-term Trainee Systemic Psychotherapist role at Band 6, transitioning to a permanent position at Band 7 upon qualification. Additional benefits include a £5000 annual incentive for the first 18 months and a potential relocation package of up to £8000, subject to eligibility and approval.

To provide a systemic family therapy service within the our Children & Adolescent Mental Health services, including assessment, care planning and therapeutic intervention. To provide consultation, supervision and support to other clinical members of the team who provide family based care and treatment.
We would also consider applications from trainees in their 4th and final year of systemic training. If recruited on this basis you would be appointed as a Trainee Systemic Psychotherapist on a fixed-term contract paid at agenda for change Band 6. On successful qualification as a family therapist you would then be offered a permanent contract as a qualified systemic psychotherapist at Band 7.
In addition to the benefits offered under the NHS terms and conditions of service, this post additionally attracts an incentive of £5000 pa pro rata for the successful applicant/s paid over the first 18 months of employment. Please note incentive payments are not applicapable to existing NHFT substantive staff. Terms & Conditions apply. To plan and organise a broad range of therapeutic activities or programmes, some of which are on-going, which require the formulation and adjustment of plans or strategies.
The ability to deal with untoward situations that may suddenly occur within the clinical environment quickly and effectively with limited other clinical staff support to manage the situation.
To support the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic care plans by other team members, and share clinical responsibility for their delivery.
To ensure the provision of support to children/young people and their families/carers, which is likely to include frequent exposure to highly distressing and emotional circumstances.
To plan and prioritise own clinical caseload, and respond to and adjust schedule of work when required. which may include crisis assessments in cases of self-harm in young people.
To make judgements on an individual basis involving highly sensitive and complex information and/or situations, which require analysis, interpretation and the comparison of a range of options, and to provide support to other team members regarding their clinical decision making and risk assessment.
To lead on appropriate aspects of service audit
To act as lead professional or care co-ordinator as appropriate.
To be able to demonstrate knowledge of Clinical Governance and CPA and demonstrates the ability to apply them in practice.
