The Croft is a ward specialising in the treatment of children and their families we are looking for an experienced nurse with excellent clinical skills and leadership qualities to join our Tier 4 children's services in order to provide robust, creative and compassionate care to our diverse client group. Situated just outside Cambridge, this specialist unit is one of two commissioned Child and Adolescent Mental Health inpatient wards, providing excellent care to young people and their families. The co-location of these units is unique in the region and thus provides exceptional opportunities for professional development in this specialist area of mental health work, benefiting both the young people and staff within the units. As a Band 6 Nurse you would be working shifts alongside a team of nursing staff and supported by a multidisciplinary team, You will benefit from an induction, regular supervision and learning and development opportunities. You will be an experienced Nurse who enjoys supporting others and leading by example. The poster holder will assist the Ward Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist in the provision of clinical leadership and to be a clinical role model to the 24-hour inpatient team. Working in conjunction with the Service Manager to set, maintain and audit clinical standards in adherence to local and national priorities. Acting on behalf of and to deputise, as directed by the Clinical Nurse Specialist in their absence and provide quality evidence-based nursing advice, support and care for service users with mental and physical health needs and to their carers within a multidisciplinary setting. The post holder will be responsible for overseeing the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care within agreed parameters, and have a working knowledge of local, national policies and legislation which govern current service provision. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and contributing to the training needs of junior registered and unregistered staff, and ensure that issues of equality, diversity and rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation. They will ensure that effective communication pathways exist, and that they act within their sphere of responsibility, providing clinical leadership alongside the Ward Manager, Deputy Ward Manager and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
