The Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a highly motivated Locum Consultant in Geriatric Medicine with a special interest in Frailty. This full-time position within a dynamic and expanding team involves managing a diverse range of services within the Frailty department, including the Acute Frailty Unit, Ambulatory Care, rehabilitation wards, and a virtual ward. The consultant will collaborate closely with the Frailty Medical lead and Clinical Director to execute the Trust's Clinical Strategy, ensuring optimal care for patients through daily multidisciplinary team interactions and overseeing clinical management.

Based at Whiston Hospital, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting weekly consults in the ambulatory frailty unit, managing referrals, and fostering the development of the Allied Health Professional (AHP) workforce. The role requires a commitment to adhering to Trust policies regarding health and safety, confidentiality, and infection control, as well as participating in performance reviews and mandatory training. Flexibility in duties is essential, and the consultant will be expected to set a high standard of care while supporting initiatives that enhance patient outcomes within the Trust's clinical framework.
