24-HOUR END OF LIFE MEDITATION NHS ON-CALL WEEKEND
The Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Band 6 Chaplain to join its ecumenical and multi-faith Spiritual and Pastoral Care team, covering both hospital campuses. Candidates must have healthcare chaplaincy experience, relevant accreditation, and the skills necessary for sensitive pastoral work. The role encompasses providing spiritual, pastoral, and religious care to patients, staff, and visitors of all beliefs, requiring a person-centered approach, active listening, and the ability to facilitate religious rites. Responsibilities include 24-hour on-call cover, collaborating with healthcare professionals, involvement in end-of-life care, conducting training, and contributing to service development.

The Chaplain will assess spiritual needs, deliver and coordinate rituals, support staff wellbeing, educate future chaplains, and engage in professional development while adhering to relevant codes of conduct. Ongoing communication and collaboration with the Spiritual and Pastoral Care Department is vital, along with maintaining effective links with clinical areas and external faith leaders. Overall, the position demands a commitment to providing compassionate and inclusive spiritual support within the healthcare environment.
