Digital Health and Care Walesis seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) Standards Lead. Digital Health and Care Wales has set an ambitious objective to provide world leading digital services, empowering people to live healthier lives. We are an NHS organisation which has a national digital and data remit for Wales. Digital innovation plays a crucial part in enabling front line services to deliver effective treatment and care for patients.

We need an experienced PMO Standards Lead to ensure we are directing our resources to digital solutions which deliver real value to clinicians and patients. Our programmes and products need to be delivered to meet user requirements to agreed timescales and within available funds. This role gives management the oversight of how we are doing and what needs a refocus. This requires a consistent and high quality adoption of programme and project methodologies and reporting standards and management of lifecycles, dependencies, demand and capacity, finances and benefits.

The right candidate will have a strongunderstanding of PMO industry standards and best practices, have a PMO qualification and can develop and lead the adoption of standards across cross-functional teams using the latest digital tooling. You will need excellent leadership skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. If you relish a challenge this job will stimulate you.

Main Duties:

  • Develop and implement portfolio management standards and processes across the organisation. This covers areas such as delivery methodologies, governance structures, risk management, benefits, investment principles and cases, dependencies and more.

  • Ensuring that our portfolio management practices are aligned with industry standards and best practices. This includes a strong appreciation of how technology can support the PMO.

  • Provide guidance and support to project managers and other stakeholders in the application of portfolio management standards.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of portfolio management practices and make recommendations for improvements.
