Special School Nurse.
We would welcome applications from enthusiastic committed children's nurses or learning disability nurses with proven clinical experience to work in Chiltern Wood School. A nurse who has excellent communication skills and are able to manage their time effectively. An understanding of the needs of children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) and additional health problems is essential.
The nurse will work closely with education and other agencies to ensure the children achieve their full potential in school.
The special school nurse will be responsiblefor ensuring that all children with complex health needs have detailed health care plans and that these are reviewed and evaluated on a yearly basis.
There is a Multidisciplinary team at the school and a real ethos of working together for the benefit of the children, in order to help them reach their potential. The role will very much involve teaching and supporting the school staff in meeting and maintaining the health needs of the children for example by providing training in
management of medication
,
epilepsy management,
and
gastrostomy feeding etc.
Full training and support will be given.
An Enhanced DBS will be required for this post.
