To operate the Mitel switchboard consoles with an efficient, courteous & friendly manner whilst answering calls professionally within an agreed timescale.
To operate the 2222 EMERGENCY SERVICE, ensuring the correct emergency team code is used in an immediate response to fires, security alerts & both medical & psychiatric emergencies relating to one of the three hospitals covered.
To monitor several alarm panels & systems highlighting medical gasses, pathology alarms, intruder alarms, ward alarms, fire alarms & all pinpoint alarms. Ensuring appropriate emergency teams are contacted as necessary & all logs and reports to be completed.
To liaise with various departments & use the intranet to ensure that when producing the On-Call sheets the correct member of staff is contacted when required.
The efficient operation of the Stanley Paging system for both emergencies & non-emergencies alike, the programming & deprogramming of bleeps for individuals whilst keeping an up to-date inventory of where bleeps are.
General administrative duties including, photocopying, emails, organising mail, key handling, report writing & maintaining accurate logs.
Working with outside companies and hospitals to arrange the collection and transportation of patients, staff, medication & samples.
To complete mandatory training & E-Learning in order to keep up to date with the requirements of the trust.
To correctly log the location & problems reported by staff members within the trust in order to let the estates & engineering teams attend jobs in a timely manner.
Working with the security team to produce an audit detailing overnight visitors to the hospital.
Switchboard Operator, GMS Band A (15 hours a week)
To operate the central communication service & associated systems. To ensure a 24 hour service is provided in a courteous & friendly manner & is responsive to the need of GMS, the Trust & their users.
Part Time (15 hours per week): night cover and ad hoc cover for full time shifts (holidays, generator test days etc).
Week 1 - Tuesday 0900-1700 & Friday 2200-0
Week 2 - Wednesday 2200-& Thursday 2200-
Week 3 - Friday 2200-& Saturday 2200-
