The role of "Head of Health Economics and Modelling" at Public Health Wales is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic development and operational management of the Health Economics and Modelling team. Located within the Policy & International Health Directorate, the successful candidate will collaborate with international partners, including the WHO, to advance the health economics agenda in Wales, with a focus on promoting investment in preventative health measures. The position requires strong leadership and organisational skills, as well as the ability to identify research opportunities and provide guidance across the organisation.

This fixed-term role, available for six months until June 2025, calls for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead a dynamic, cross-functional team. While proficiency in Welsh is desirable, candidates who speak either English or Welsh are encouraged to apply.

This is an exciting and pivotal senior leadership position leading the strategic vision and implementation of our growing Health Economics and Modelling team. The role is based within our Policy & International Health Directorate, and as such, you will work closely with the WHO, national and international partners, shaping the health economics agenda in Wales and beyond, shifting investment towards prevention.

The post holder will lead the strategic development, implementation and operational management of our Health Economics and Modelling unit. You will work across Public Health Wales to develop our health economics capacity, identifying areas of research, and providing guidance and support to the wider organisation. You will work with partners externally to make the case for investment in public health.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
