The training will primarily take place at King George Hospital and Queen's Hospital, while candidates will need to travel within the region and have access to IT equipment. We are looking for enthusiastic Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician Apprentices to complete a GPhC-accredited qualification and the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship Standard.
We will provide you with a personal training plan and an Educational Supervisor to support you as you complete your qualification and achieve competencies and training objectives as you rotate through a variety of areas where our pharmacy team provide pharmaceutical services.
You are required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, attention to detail and accuracy, and to have a professional and person-centred attitude.
You must be able to meet the course delivery requirements including attending regional study days, completing distance-learning packages online and attending virtual classrooms online. Therefore, it is essential that you have the means to travel within the region (by car/public transport) and have access to appropriate IT equipment.You will need to be highly committed and self-motivated and to demonstrate excellent work/life/study balance skills.Trainees who successfully complete the qualification and training programme will be eligible to register with the GPhC and practice as a registered Pharmacy Technician.
To be eligible for this role, you must have at least 5 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent, including Maths, English Language and at least one Science subject.Functional Skills Level 2 is accepted as equivalent evidence of English Language and Maths. A Statement of Comparability from UK ENIC must be held for qualifications obtained overseas. ESOL and IELTS are not equivalent and don't meet the entry requirements.Your qualifications MUST be clearly stated on your application form to be considered for shortlisting. Formal evidence i.e. certificates from awarding bodies MUST be provided at or prior to interview.In addition, you must meet apprenticeship funding requirements as defined by the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education. If you have lived in the UK for less than three years or if you already hold a qualification in pharmacy or another closely related subject at RQF Level 3 or above, you may not be eligible.There is a requirement to work throughout all premises where BHRUT provide pharmaceutical services, but you will spend most of your time between the King George Hospital and Queen's Hospital.
