The Band 4 Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) Apprentice position at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in Romford and Ilford offers a two-year fixed-term contract for individuals passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare, particularly in pharmacy. Apprentices will work towards a GPhC-accredited qualification and the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) Apprenticeship Standard, supported by a personal training plan and an Educational Supervisor. The role involves rotating through various pharmacy services, requiring excellent communication skills and attention to detail, as well as a commitment to self-development and learning.

Candidates must have at least five GCSEs, including Maths, English Language, and a Science subject, and should be able to meet course delivery requirements while maintaining a work/study balance. The training will primarily take place at King George Hospital and Queen's Hospital, while candidates will need to travel within the region and have access to IT equipment. Successful trainees will be eligible for GPhC registration upon completing the program. The position starts on February 24, 2025, with a salary that increases in the second year.
