East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a part-time Mobile Cancer Unit Driver at Colchester Hospital. The ideal candidate will hold an LGV Class 2 (C) driving license and have experience driving Light Goods Vehicles. This role involves transporting the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit (MCU) to various locations, providing direct patient interaction, and ensuring a supportive environment through offering refreshments and assisting patients. Responsibilities also include setting up the unit for medical staff, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and adhering to legal driving requirements.

The part-time position requires 45 hours of work over two weeks, with a current schedule of alternate Mondays and two longer shifts on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Duties encompass daily vehicle inspections, organizing the MCU, cleaning chairs between patient visits, and liaising with nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care. This role is essential in delivering vital chemotherapy services to cancer patients in the community.
