The Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is seeking a full-time Medical Secretary for its Gastroenterology department at Lewisham Hospital. The ideal candidate should be dedicated, proactive, and able to thrive in a busy work environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize tasks. Previous medical secretarial experience and excellent typing skills are essential. Responsibilities include acting as the first point of contact for patients and service users, managing telephone inquiries, producing correspondence and urgent clinical letters through audio transcription, organizing meetings, and handling incoming correspondence promptly while maintaining patient confidentiality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and training on Trust systems will be provided as needed.
