The Associate Chief Nurse for Professions, Policy and Practice at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing nursing practice and policy within the organisation. This position entails deputizing for the Chief Nursing Officer and the Deputy Chief Nurse, providing expert advice, and representing the organisation at various meetings. The role focuses on leading professional culture and contemporary practice in Mental Health, Learning Disability, and Autism services while promoting anti-racist practices and inclusive behaviors.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date nursing policies, ensuring compliance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards, managing the nursing budget, and driving quality patient care and effective clinical practices. The Associate Chief Nurse will support the development of the All Age Mental Health Strategy, foster partnerships across social care and other organisations, and provide both clinical and professional leadership to nursing and allied health professional teams within the Trust.
