The role of Peer Supporter with the Northumberland Head Injuries Service (NHIS) at the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is tailored for individuals with lived experience of traumatic brain injury. This part-time position involves working directly in the community with service users and their families, utilizing personal experiences to foster connection, offer support through rehabilitation journeys, and facilitate positive engagement within a multi-disciplinary team. The Peer Supporter will share their own rehabilitation story, encourage service users to participate in their treatment processes, and contribute to ongoing service development and educational initiatives.

Key responsibilities include providing one-on-one and group support, promoting service user involvement, and assisting individuals in understanding their condition and accessing resources. The ideal candidate should possess excellent listening skills, the ability to engage sensitively, and meet mobility requirements to support users throughout the region.
