HOLISTIC MENTAL HEALTH MULTI-DISCIPLINARY NIGHTS ON-CALL WEEKEND
The Deputy Ward Manager role at Llety Newydd in Cardiff, offered by Swansea Bay University Health Board, seeks a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Learning Disability or Mental Health Nurse. The successful candidate will have experience in working with individuals with learning disabilities, mental health issues, and a forensic background. Responsibilities include assisting the Ward Manager with daily operations, staff management, resource allocation, and overseeing patient care processes. The role entails implementing a high-quality, person-centered approach based on the Positive Behaviour Support model within a seven-day service environment, including weekends and holidays.

Additionally, the Deputy Ward Manager will support the operational management of the unit, contribute to multidisciplinary care delivery, and assess admits for the Specialist Residential Services Unit. The position includes providing learning disability nursing advice across service settings and participating in the Nurse on-call rota. While the ability to speak Welsh is desirable, it is not mandatory for applicants. The role offers a dynamic and challenging work environment focused on supporting adults with learning disabilities who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
