The CAMHs team is part of a supportive and innovative child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) in Southampton. The aim of this service is to support a child/young person in continuing with their mental health recovery at home with their families with the right support and most importantly the least restrictive.
This is a new role within the CAMHS West portfolio and is an exciting development opportunity for a Band 5 nurse to gain experience across the Specialist CAMHS team within the ADHD Pathway.
The post holder will be embedded within the ADHD pathway developing specialist skills in Neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism and their assessment as well as wider mental health conditions.
All young people who are accepted to the service will follow a structured Programme, in line with relevant NICE guidelines. Interventions are delivered by a multi-disciplinary clinical team comprising of: Consultant Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Nurses, Social Worker, Dietitian, Family Therapist, Assistant Psychologists and Managerial Support.
The successful candidate would be professionally registered and be supported to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. The CAMHS team is a strong and supportive team and has excellent structures to offer regular supervision and support.
The post holder will work under supervision of senior colleagues to develop skills to become an autonomous and accountable nurse within our integrated teams. This will involve the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the care provided and effective liaison with all agencies involved with the service user.
