A vacancy has arisen within our Treatment Room Team. We are taking this opportunity to reassess the needs of the practice, and whilst we are seeking a qualified nurse, ideally experienced in primary care, we would also be keen to speak to any Health Care Assistants or Phlebotomists who are looking for a new challenge. We are mindful that for various reasons, not least work-life balance, not everyone wishes to work full-time, so we would be willing to consider two or more part-time posts, possibly with varying skillsets.
Working as a member of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post holder(s) will ensure that general nursing services are delivered effectively to the patient population.
The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for a number of clinical areas such as infection prevention and control, health promotion, chronic disease management, health promotion, well women and well man clinics, venepuncture, wound care and ECGs as well as actively supporting the practice management team in the reviewing and delivery of clinical policy and procedure. There will also be a role caring for our frail patients, both in the surgery and in their own homes.
Painswick Surgery will ensure that the post holder has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.
The following are the core responsibilities of the Practice Nurse. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks. This will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

1. To assess the needs of patients ensuring the provision of healthcare is appropriate, incorporating evidence-based practice
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Practice Nurse may be requested to:
