The Family Integrated Care Lead at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust will be responsible for implementing the Family Integrated Care philosophy within the neonatal units. This role involves collaborating with families to encourage their active participation in the care of their babies, while working closely with various healthcare teams, including the Neonatal Community Outreach team. The post holder will lead initiatives aimed at enhancing patient engagement and experience, focusing on quality improvement projects such as infant feeding, parent-led ward rounds, and discharge planning, ultimately preparing the unit for Bliss and Neonatal Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation.

Additionally, the role requires expertise in family integrated care, developmental care, and breastfeeding, with a strong emphasis on advocating for 'parents as partners in care.' The lead will provide education and support for both staff and parents, foster participation in care discussions, and develop local guidelines to standardize care practices.
