This is an exciting opportunity to lead our Haematology department, advocating high quality care for our patients at BHRUT. You will be supported by an experienced team of senior leaders, healthcare professionals and peers.
We are looking for a full-time member of staff (37.5 hours per week) to work in partnership with the Head of Haematology and Blood Transfusion and the Head of Pathology in the planning, provision and service delivery of the haematology service. The role is based at King George Hospital, however the succesfull candidate will be expected to rotate to the other site at Queens Hospital Romford as required. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination and development of our Haematology service as part of the overall pathology improvement programme which includes Shift patterns and modernisation. The post holder will provide leadership, support and guidance to staff to ensure a patient focused service whilst managing the Haematology Team. You will provide a high level of scientific technical expertise in haematology applying this to the smooth running of the department's sections and in education and training of staff. The role includes effective management of staff (including recruitment, appraisal, training compliance, performance and absence management). The post holder is accountable for service delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies.
To be responsible for the organisation of the Haematology laboratories (including autoimmune serology), at BHRUT. To supervise the technical work and lead a team of biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants to provide a high quality, efficient and effective service which supports the objectives of patient care and resource management within the hospital. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all local and national policies relating to Haematology and Immunology practice are implemented and observed by all staff.
