The South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and flexible Health Care Support Worker for a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) in Ward 19 at The Priestley Unit, a mental health facility in Dewsbury. The role primarily involves providing compassionate and safe care to adult in-patients over the age of 65, mainly on the male side of the ward, while occasionally offering support on the female side. Candidates should exhibit a genuine interest in older adult care, possess strong communication and time management skills, and be adept at fostering therapeutic relationships with service users.

The post holder will work under the supervision of registered health care professionals, contributing to the delivery of psychological and physical care. Key responsibilities include assisting in care planning, engaging service users in meaningful activities, delivering personal care, and applying knowledge of various health conditions. The successful applicant will also be expected to maintain safety standards, attend to the personal needs of patients, and participate in a flexible schedule that provides continuous care. Full COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged for all employees to ensure patient safety.
