The Band 7 Practice Development Midwife (PDM) position at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a pivotal role focused on enhancing the quality of maternity care. The primary responsibilities include supporting junior midwives in their clinical practice, designing and delivering educational programs, and conducting training sessions to build their competencies. The PDM will also collaborate with healthcare teams to identify areas for improvement, implement quality initiatives, and ensure compliance with best practices through the development of clinical guidelines and standards.

Additionally, the role involves mentoring midwives, promoting continuous professional development, and engaging in research to advance midwifery practices.
