Job Summary: Senior Medical Secretary (MSK/Plastics) - 12 Months FTC (Mat Cover)
The Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a full-time (part-time options available) Band 4 Senior Medical Secretary to join its Plastics team for a maternity cover position. The role, primarily based at Bradford Royal Infirmary, involves managing patient pathways, outpatient and inpatient waiting lists, arranging admissions, diary management, and transcribing clinical correspondence.
Candidates should possess essential medical secretarial and typing experience, with RSA III typing skills being highly desirable. Strong communication, organizational, and IT skills are crucial, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role necessitates a methodical approach, teamworking capabilities, and the ability to interact professionally with patients and medical staff. Additionally, leadership skills are important for supervising and mentoring junior team members.
