The International and Private Care Directorate
The International and Private Care (I&PC) Directorate at GOSH provides care for children with complex and rare conditions who cannot be treated in their home country. Patients treated within I&PC receive not only the highest calibre of on-site medical and nursing expertise, but also benefit from state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic and intensive care services found throughout the Trust. All of the income we generate through I&PC is reinvested back into GOSH to fund new buildings and vital equipment needed to provide world class treatment to children.
We have three inpatient wards within the Directorate caring for children from all specialities, but when needed our patients are also cared for the in speciality ward areas.
The Clinical Pathway Team
The CPT has responsibility for overseeing the entirety of I&PC inpatient pathways from referral to discharge, regardless of their physical location within GOSH. We are a resource for any team in the hospital involved with, or undertaking, the treatment of I&PC patients and engage with stakeholders both internal and external to GOSH regularly.
The successful candidate will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team to ensure robust preadmission processes are followed to enable all patients to experience a safe and seamless experience.
You will be organised, have excellent communication skills. Ideally, you will have previous band 6 clinical experience (or be a band 5 with nurse in charge experience) and a sound knowledge base in paediatric nursing across multiple specialities.
This post is intended to support the Clinical Pathway Manager in overseeing all I&PC patients within GOSH, regardless of their referral route or physical location within the Trust.
