CANNULATION NHS VENEPUNCTURE
The Phlebotomy and Cannulation Technician at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will be responsible for delivering high-quality phlebotomy and cannulation services to both inpatients and outpatients. This role involves managing waiting times, ensuring safe and effective collection of blood samples, accurately labelling and dispatching specimens, and providing timely responses to cannulation requests. The technician will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate patient discharge and maintain a high level of patient satisfaction, while also documenting procedures and addressing any patient concerns during the processes.

In addition to technical skills, effective communication with patients before, during, and after procedures is essential. The technician must adhere to Trust policies, ensure patient dignity, and be vigilant in monitoring patient conditions, seeking immediate medical assistance if necessary. The position requires maintaining accurate records and possibly delivering urgent specimens to laboratories. Overall, the role is critical to supporting patient care and ensuring quality healthcare delivery within the Trust.
