Band 6: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pa  PERMANENT  GOOD SALARY 

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Rotational Physiotherapist to rotate between Stroke and Neurorehabilitation Services in Bolton.

The post will rotate across the Stroke pathway, the Acute Stroke Unit at Royal Bolton Hospital and the Community Stroke team based at Breightmet Health Centre and also with the Neurorehabilitation Service also based at Breightmet Health Centre.

The post holder will be a forward thinking, enthusiastic, and motivated Physiotherapist and work as part of a friendly and dynamic team, working closely to provide collaborative care and specialist physiotherapy treatment, intervention and advice.

The successful applicant will work as part of a well established and highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, psychologists, speech and language therapists, therapy assistants and nurses.

The service actively encourages training and staff development, supported by experienced senior staff in proactive way. The post holder will benefit from a robust supervision and appraisal programme, excellent in-house training and CPD. Supervision and support will be provided by Band 7 Physiotherapists.

The post covers Monday to Friday with Saturdays / Bank Holidays being covered on a rota basis.

The successful applicant will

  • work as an autonomous practitioner within the stroke and/or Neurorehabilitation service supported by highly specialist therapists.
  • perform therapeutic assessment of patients within stroke and/or Neurorehabilitation with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes
  • manage a defined caseload, using evidence based, client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
  • provide clinical education, advice and support for junior therapy staff and support staff.
  • provide specialist knowledge, skills and advice to clients, and be a source of expertise for therapy staff, other members of the MDT and other agencies.
  • supervise, educate and assess the performance of therapy students.
  • contribute to service research and audit activities and propose / develop service changes.
