NHS Professionals Limited is seeking a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join the South Tyneside/Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will work autonomously within a dedicated team to conduct advanced physiotherapy assessments, diagnoses, and treatments, ensuring high-quality patient care from initial assessment through to discharge planning. You will also be responsible for providing specialist advice and education to patients, their carers, and multidisciplinary teams, while leading clinical practice initiatives and supervising junior staff and physiotherapy students.
The position involves maintaining accurate clinical records in compliance with HCPC standards and offers the opportunity to work across Orthopaedic In-patient Wards and MSK Outpatients, fostering collaboration across different sites. As a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist, you will work autonomously within a dedicated team to provide advanced physiotherapy assessments, diagnosis, and treatments. This role will enable you to:
- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy care, from assessment to treatment and discharge planning, using evidence-based practices.
- Provide specialist advice and education to patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Lead on clinical practice initiatives to elevate the profile of the service.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior staff and undergraduate physiotherapy students.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure adherence to HCPC standards.
- Work across Orthopaedic In-patient Wards and MSK Outpatients, with opportunities for cross-site collaboration.
