EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT NHS ROLE MODEL
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse for the Clinical Decisions Unit at Glenfield Hospital, which features a 46-bedded, fully monitored facility dedicated to caring for patients with cardiac and respiratory conditions. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care while taking charge of the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse. The successful candidate will also lead and supervise nursing staff, contribute to service and quality improvements, mentor students and junior staff, and support a team-oriented environment.

Candidates should be flexible to work a rotational schedule of long days and night shifts, preferably on a full-time basis, though part-time hours of no less than 34.5 hours per week may be considered. The position requires effective communication with patients and their families, along with participation in ongoing care improvement initiatives and research-based practices. A face-to-face interview is mandatory for applicants, as video interviews will not be offered.
