The Prince of Wales Surgery in Dorchester is seeking a motivated Practice Nurse to work part-time (20-25 hours per week) across their Dorchester and Portesham sites. The ideal candidate will have primary care experience and a commitment to providing excellent patient care. Key responsibilities include patient assessment, treatment, chronic disease management (such as diabetes), administering vaccinations, and providing health education. The role also involves tasks like wound care, cytology, and infection control monitoring.

The practice is currently looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse, ideally with primary care experience to join our friendly and professional team on a part time basis 20 - 25 hours per week.

Job description
Provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients
Job Responsibilities:
- Cytology
- Wound and ulcer care including removal of sutures and staples
- Day to day management of chronic diseases clinics such as Diabetes including maintaining disease registers, management of condition, referrals to other members of the primary care team, audit outcomes of care against standards and initiate changes as necessary
- Routine immunisations and vaccinations schedule
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs, bloods
- Contraception advice including Depo and pill checks
- Administration of injections including b12
- Infection control monitoring
- Day to day use of recall systems/processes
- Venepuncture

Required:
- Registered Nurse currently registered with the NMC
- Preference of experience of Primary Care including childhood and travel vaccinations, cytology, woundcare.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- IT Literate
