The People and Organisational Development Directorate has exciting opportunity for a HR Advisor to join us as we go through a period of cultural change, with increased activity levels, exciting projects and increased organisational change. Working within our People and Organisation Development directorate, with the support of a Senior HR Advisors you will support our managers to deliver the best approach to people management, reduce absence and improve recruitment and retention. Start date for this role will be 1 April 2025 for external candidates. Your role will be to support the effective delivery of a high quality and professional Human Resources service providing focused challenge, advice and guidance to managers in the Trust and ensure effective implementation of, and compliance with, all workforce policies, procedures, workforce practices and standards. You will be expected to lead on reducing sickness absence through active management of cases including short & long-term sickness and manage a caseload of investigations i.e. disciplinary grievance and harassment and performance management issues. You will also be expected to communicate with Trade Union representatives, senior managers and clinicians confidently and effectively regarding workforce matters and casework. You will have a strong background in HR, but NHS experience is not essential, more important is your drive and enthusiasm with an ability to apply your HR knowledge and expertise to an NHS setting. About us YAS is a large organisation so experience of a similar environment would be advantageous. NHS experience would be useful but is not essential and HR practitioners from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Experience of working with trade unions is essential. Essential skills and experience required: Be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have experience of generalist HR in a large and complex organisation Experience within operational HR with a good knowledge of employment law Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a manner which is clear, fluent, persuasive, non-judgemental, and which enhances professional credibility. Ability to develop and deliver training/learning/ coaching interventions to managers on a range of HR-related best practices/subjects. Ability to interpret complex information and formulate policies Able to plan and manage a demanding workload with competing priorities. Ability to develop effective working relationships, and demonstrate professional credibility with colleagues at all levels Ability to assimilate, analyse and interpret information and to summarise key issues clearly and concisely. Excellent IT skills to include Word, Excel, Powerpoint, HR database
