This role sits within HRA Digital. The digital directorate is responsible for developing, delivering and supporting complex solutions within the HRAs portfolio of UK-wide information systems for health and care research. This includes a major programme to build new systems, and to achieve the successful migration and eventual closure of current systems.

The HRA Digital team is a collaborative, supportive team consisting of HRA employees, secondees, contractors and vendors.

You'll receive hands-on training, mentorship, and the chance to work on real projects that make an impact.

The postholder will:

  • Assist in setting up and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
  • Provide IT support to HRA employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Learn to automate processes using tools across the Microsoft 365 suites.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and apply fixes with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Help implement security measures and ensure data safety.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Services Team on tasks like network management, backups, and system upgrades.
  • Participate in team projects and contribute to the development of technical solutions.
  • Provide admin support for the Technical Design Authority
