The role of Consultant Psychiatrist for Avocet Ward at St Mary's Hospital in Kettering involves providing psychiatric assessment and management for male adult inpatients in a 16-bed ward setting. The position requires RC/AC status and Section 12 approval, and it supports a range of psychiatric presentations for new admissions. The psychiatrist will collaborate with junior doctors and engage in regular discussions with other consultants on-site, promoting a comprehensive approach to patient care.

The Welland Centre, where the ward is located, features a modern inpatient unit staffed by a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including nursing, occupational therapy, and psychology professionals.
