Band 8a: £53,755 to £60,504 a year  PERMANENT 

An exciting opportunity exists to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Radiographer looking to lead and develop the Digital Radiography (DR) service in a large teaching hospital.

The successful candidate must be an inspirational leader demonstrating strong management, communication, team building and organisational skills, and have a passion for excellence in patient care.

Our multiple sites, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, Solihull Hospital and Community Services, Good Hope Hospital in Sutton Coldfield and Birmingham Chest Clinic allow people to be treated as close to home as possible.

We are world-renowned for our trauma care and have developed pioneering surgical techniques in the management of ballistic and blast injuries, including bespoke surgical solutions for previously unseen injuries. We are a designated a Level 1 Trauma Centre and host of the UK's only 20m National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Surgical Reconstruction and Microbiology Research Centre (SRMRC).

We have over 20,000 members of staff and we are committed to investing in their development and their health and wellbeing.

The Imaging Directorate provides 24/7 service delivery and has an established track record of service re-design and transformation. The current focus has seen a financial investment of over 3 million to upgrade and modernise the equipment and facilities at each of the hospital sites.

You will need to be an experienced DR radiographer who is dynamic, highly driven, motivated with strong leadership and proven management experience to lead and coordinate a diverse team to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive vision for the development of new services for patients. The successful candidate will be required to lead in further service improvements and expansion, equipment procurement and selection, and training and development of staff. You will need strong communication skills and have an ability to problem solve complex situations.

You will be required to maintain and encourage the highest possible standards of patient care and professionalism.
