Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for its dynamic Acute Cardiac Unit, which specializes in Primary PCI, myocardial infarction, heart failure, pacing, and arrhythmia management. This role offers two positions: one permanent (37.5 hours/week) and one fixed-term (34.5 hours/week until May 31, 2025).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care and assess individual patient needs.
  • Participate in discharge planning and multi-disciplinary referrals.
  • Administer medications safely in compliance with NMC standards.
  • Contribute to the development of nursing standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Support and mentor new staff and students.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights.
  • Experience in an acute setting is preferred, as well as rhythm recognition skills and current IILS certification.
  • Commitment to personal and professional development, including compliance with PREP and maintaining NMC registration.
