Additionally, the Clinical Lead will play a key role in governance and quality assurance within the team, ensuring that service delivery upholds the dignity and respect of service users. Responsibilities include mentoring team members, overseeing caseloads in partnership with the Service Manager, and leading safeguarding processes in compliance with relevant policies. This position combines both managerial and clinical functions, emphasizing social inclusion, recovery, and community engagement in substance misuse treatment.
The post holder will be responsible for monitoring of staff performance and ensuring that the service meets it targets in relation to both national and local targets.
The post holder will be responsible for delivering both clinical and management supervision to a multidisciplinary team. The post holder will have a strong commitment to partnership working, building external networks and teamwork and be able to work sensitively within a culturally diverse environment.
The post holder will have a good understanding of Substance Misuse Service delivery and monitoring systems.
The post holder will support with governance and audit within the team, ensuring that service delivery focuses on the quality agenda and that dignity, privacy and respect is afforded at all times to service users. Team members are to be supported and developed to their potential and that new team members are to be comprehensively inducted and successfully integrated into the team. This includes mentoring and supervision on Student Nurses and Trainees interventions and care to service users with complex mental and physical health problems.
The post holder will, with the Service Manager oversee the caseload of the team. They will ensure the formulation of profession specific highly specialist care and Recovery Care Plans which provide highly skilled professional and specialist interventions / care to service users with substance misuse problems and/or complex mental health concerns in line with best practice and service objectives.
The post holder will lead on the services safeguarding process and ensure that team members are compliant with safeguarding systems and to take the lead role in the safeguarding procedure and investigations in accordance with policy.

This post is a middle management position within a Community Substance Misuse Service.
The post-holder will be required to function as both a manager and as a senior clinician and lead a team which has a strong emphasis on social inclusion, recovery and engagement in a community drug service. Clinically there is an expectation for the post holder to work with individuals with the most complex substance misuse, mental health and physical health problems.
